Haystack Centerpiece
Blue and white 3D printed porcelain centerpiece in a chevron pattern with clear glaze. The proportions are that of a ginormous birthday cake and it’s named after the amazing layer cakes served at Haystack School of Craft in Deer Isle, Maine. This form is my current pride and joy as it’s large enough to be a showpiece and small enough to be really practical. The bespoke printing technique creates an effect that the blue porcelain is more dominant on one side and white more pronounced on the other. Every one is unique.
